Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Furniture Care Protection plan at Walker Furniture?
Furniture Care Protection is a protection plan you can add to new furniture bought at Walker Furniture & Mattress. It covers accidental stains and damage on upholstered, leather, wood and outdoor furniture. If an accident happens, you can request service instead of paying for repairs or cleaning yourself.
What types of furniture does the protection plan cover?
The plan covers four material types: fabric and microfiber upholstery, A&P leather, vinyl, and wood furniture. There's also separate coverage for outdoor furniture.
Does the furniture protection plan cover food and drink stains?
Yes. Household food and beverage stains are covered on fabric, microfiber, leather, vinyl and wood. On outdoor furniture, gum is covered too. On wood, stains that build up over time from product accumulation are excluded.
Are pet stains covered by the furniture protection plan?
Yes. On upholstered, leather and vinyl furniture, the plan covers stains from pet saliva, urine, stomach fluid and blood. Outdoor furniture is covered for pet body fluids as well.
Does the plan cover stains from kids, like crayon, ink or nail polish?
Yes. On fabric, microfiber, leather and vinyl, the plan covers accidental ballpoint pen ink, wax crayon, makeup, nail polish and nail polish remover. On outdoor furniture, it covers ink, markers, dye and cosmetics.
Is color transfer from jeans covered?
Yes. Color transfer from denim jeans or newspaper is covered on fabric, microfiber, leather and vinyl furniture.
Does the protection plan cover rips, tears or cuts in my sofa?
Yes. Accidental punctures, cuts, tears and rips are covered on upholstered, leather, vinyl and outdoor furniture.
Are burns covered under the furniture protection plan?
Yes, if the burn or singe mark came from brief contact with a flame or heat source. This applies to upholstery, leather, vinyl, wood and outdoor furniture.
Does the plan cover cracking or peeling leather?
Yes. On top grain leather, cracking or peeling is covered in seating areas. On all leather and vinyl, it's covered in non-seating areas.
Are broken recliner or sleeper mechanisms covered?
Yes, but only after the manufacturer's warranty ends. Covered mechanisms include reclining, sleeper, heating, power and vibrating mechanisms. Broken frames, panels and springs are also covered. The plan can't be used in place of the manufacturer's warranty.
What does the protection plan cover on wood furniture?
Wood furniture coverage includes food and beverage stains, water rings and marks, heat marks, sun fading, and damage from nail polish or nail polish remover. It also covers assembled joints that fail, scratches, dents, gouges or chips that go through the top coat finish, and peeling finish on solid wood or veneer surfaces.
