PROJECT FIREHOUSE: RESTED & READY
Walker Furniture’s Project Firehouse: Rested & Ready program was developed in 2018. The purpose has always been to enhance the comfort and quality of sleep for our dedicated first responders in Southern Nevada, so that they can be rested and ready. Our initial effort provided over two hundred new mattresses and foundations for all 30 Clark County firehouses. Then we replaced more than 140 mattresses and foundations at Las Vegas Fire and Rescue stations. Currently, we have partnered with the North Las Vegas Fire Department, where we will provide 70 new mattresses and foundations to 8 firehouses.
HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
For the past 30 years, Walker Furniture has collected nominations from the community to help those in need. We fully furnish 35 homes of deserving individuals and families in the Las Vegas valley. Each recipient is given furniture to make their life and home a bit more comfortable. Dining sets, bedroom sets, living room sets and more are selected by our committee and based on each recipient's needs. We look forward to this every holiday season.

Those who serve our country should be served by us when they return home. For over a decade, this initiative has provided vital support to our local heroes in need who reside in Clark County. The ‘Help for Heroes’ program seeks to enhance the quality of life for wounded U.S. Military personnel and veterans by providing specialized furniture tailored to their needs. From lift chairs to adjustable beds, the program addresses essential requirements not typically covered by conventional avenues of support.

POST 149 ROCK THE TROOPS POKER RUN
Walker Furniture participates as a stop for the annual Rock The Troops Poker Run produced by American Legion Paradise Post 149 to raise money for Nevada’s military community. This event raises money for the Post's Operation Vegas Heroes campaign.
CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ART AND WRITING COMPETITIONS
We have partnered with CCSD for 28 years offering art, reading, and writing competitions for all grade levels. Teacher lounges and reading centers among other awards are created for winning schools.

Teacher Appreciation an Annual Writing Competition: Each year, Walker Furniture, in cooperation with the CCSD Community Engagement office, gives students in Southern Nevada an opportunity to win new furnishings for their teachers’ lounge by writing a letter about their favorite teacher of all time! The lucky teacher receives a gift certificate to furnish their own home and the winning student receives a cash prize! Learn More

Communities In Schools (CIS) "Elevate Your GPA" Competition
Walker promotes staying in school and raising students’ GPA’s. Each year we will gift brand new furniture to one of the resource rooms in Communities In School (CIS) of Nevada as part of “Elevate Your GPA” scholastic competition. We offer this remodel as a reward for the highest GPA increase during the semester. The winning student also receives a cash prize!
Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Photography & Video Competition
Walker Furniture is working together with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine Well-Being Program whose mission is to help create and sustain a culture of well-being for their students, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff. We’ve invited the medical students to participate in a photography competition and offer the winners a cash prize!

Community Partnership – Vegas Golden Knights
Walker Furniture is proud to highlight local first responders by providing Vegas Golden Knights game tickets, Best Thrones in the Realm seats, and a feature on the jumbotron at games throughout the season. Among those recognized are local firefighters, police officers, detectives, and LVMPD dispatchers. It’s our way of saying thank you to our local heroes for their bravery and sacrifice.
Community Partnership – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
In honor of 2024 National Crime Victim’s Rights Week, we partnered with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) to collaborate and design a new progressive and supportive environment for crime victims during interviews. Delivery of new furniture and accessories to LVMPD headquarters established a more inviting and cozy interview space for victims of crimes and their families. Additionally, LVMPD opened a new wellness bureau in November 2024. Metro employees and their families meet with full-time clinicians and peer support liaisons who are solely dedicated to providing mental health care through this facility. Walker provided furniture to help create a comfortable environment for therapy sessions.
