Design A Pumpkin- October 2011!

This is our fourth year of Design a Pumpkin with CCSD Elementary Schools and Walker Furniture! Here are the guidelines:
Create a design for the front of a pumpkin using construction paper collage. The winning pumpkin design will be recreated
and carved onto a real pumpkin by professional pumpkin carver, Chef Chan Boupha, at Walker Furniture's atrium on Saturday, October 29th, 2011. Please join us in the fun of watching this amazing transformation from pumpkin to a work of art!

Photo Art Competition- December 2011!

We invited CCSD High School to submit photographs that represents Las Vegas, not as the typical vacation and party get-away destination, yet rather emphasizing the unique attributes that Las Vegas has to offer. For example, the natural beauty and culture that is often times overlooked, or possibly an insight into the people who live in Las Vegas. This year's submissions were amazing! Although we could only choose three photographs to receive prizes, we can assure you that every piece was seriously considered. The quality of the work was so great that we gave an additional three honorable mentions! Thank you to the teachers and students who participated in this contest. The quality of the prints was excellent and well presented. These entries conveyed to us the REAL LAS VEGAS, as we locals know it. Congratulations to first place winner Kiley Ballew from Arbor View High School. A special thanks to Mrs. Ziegler, photography teacher of the first place student.
